Summaries–concise restatements of the ideas of others–must meet three criteria:
they must accurately reflect the meaning and intention of the original source
they are completed worded in the summarizer’s own voice
they include in-text citation and source inclusion on the works cited list.
Summaries should be seamlessly integrated into an essay as evidence that helps illustrate, clarify, or substantiate a point.
