What effects does drug use have on sexual behaviour among college students or young adults?

Option A – Picking a Method and Answering a Research Question

A research question generally examines how two or more variables are related to each other. We have listed four research questions below. For the assignment you need to pick one of the research questions and describe what you could learn about it using each of the main methodological approaches (Experiments, Surveys, Available Data, and Field Methods). What are the strengths and weaknesses of each of the approaches in regards to addressing the research question you have chosen? Then, pick which research method you think would be best to try to answer the research question and discuss how you would actually do the research. You need to describe how you would draw a sample, what data (information about the variables) you would collect and how you would do so (e.g. how would you design the experiment, what questions would be on the survey, what would you observe in the field, etc.). In completing the assignment make sure you are clear as to what the strengths of using this specific research method (compared to other methods) are, and in making these comparisons be sure to demonstrate your understanding of the fundamentals of the various methodological approaches. Strong assignments will use some of the research methods vocabulary that the book, lectures and articles use to talk about your proposed projects.
