Develop a 3-4 page essay (Your essay must be a minimum of 3 full pages) analyses of/response to the prompt below.

* What are some challenges that government organizations face in their attempts to hire new employees? What do you believe can – or should – be done to make working in government a more attractive alternative for recent college graduates?

Your response should be written using Times-New Roman 12 pt. font with standard 1-inch margins. The paper should include a title page, and any references used should be detailed using a separate reference page. Your Title and Reference pages are not included in overall page length. An abstract page not required.

There are no right or wrong answers, rather I will be looking for how well you support your argument. The material for the paper should come from the assigned readings, class discussions and outside research. The four bolded sections below are required.

Introduction

This part should include a hook to grab the attention. of the reader.This section is where you will lay out for the reader your question at issue you intend to address, present your thesis statement (recommended answer to the question or solution to the problem), and communicate the main points you will be presenting in the body of the paper.

Body of the Paper

Here you will present an argument in support of your thesis statement. Your argument should be based on facts and logic, and should support your thesis statement. The body of your essay should be a minimum of three (3) paragraphs.

Conclusion

This section should simply summarize the question at issue, thesis statement and main points. I should have a clear sense of the logic of your paper.

References

Any references used in your essay should be cited according to either the Chicago Manual Style (16th ed.) or the American Psychology Association (APA) (6th ed.) style in author-date format with a separate reference sheet attached to your essay.

A minimum of three references from outside research must be provided. A minimum of two (2) of your references must come from a news article, journal article, book, or other publication (not simply a website).

Please edit (or have someone edit) your work to ensure that it is free of typographical, spelling and grammatical errors.

Grading Rubric

– Demonstrates an understanding of the target audience. Uses appropriate vocabulary and language. Anticipates probable questions and addresses these concerns with evidence.
-Introductory paragraph contains a clear thesis of main idea with clear suggestions as to how the body of the essay will support this thesis.
-Body paragraphs provide clear evidence and ample examples supporting thesis statement.
-Closing paragraph provides a clear conclusion successfully stating the author’s position, as well as containing an effective restatement of the main idea or thesis of the essay.
-All sentences are well constructed with very few minor mistakes. Complex sentence structures are used effectively.
Linking language is used correctly and often.
