Transformational leadership is a charismatic type of leadership (Bass & Bass, 2008). Transformational leaders focus on the priorities of the followers, adjusting the end goal to the goals set by the followers (Bass & Bass, 2008). The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) believes in the transformational leader model so much that they designed the hospital magnet certification around the transformative model (ANCC, 2020). Some transformative leaders include Martin Luther King, Jr. He recognized that his followers wanted equality and he showed them show to get equality (Bass & Bass, 2008), using nonviolent means.
