Sustainability and waste management in the construction Industry

The aim is to research and investigate improving concrete waste management in construction within the UK.

Objectives of the literature review is:
1. To investigate the current attitudes within the industry in regards to concrete waste.
2. Analyse the recycling and reusing processes of construction waste such as concrete rubble to evaluate the issues of hard concrete.
3. Explore the processes of waste from manufacturers of ready mixed concrete
to determine procedures in reprocessing concrete into useable material.

I have included document of my research proposal please have a read of that and the topic brief: Construction is one of the main producers of waste according WRAP; construction industry is accountable for 60% of all materials in which 33% is waste and produces 45% of CO2 emissions. The UK Government has confirmed 120 million tonnes of demolition waste is produced by construction companies in which 13 million tonnes is unused raw material. Suppliers, contractors, clients, engineers and architects hold responsibility to minimise construction waste. The project dissertation will highlight the key factors and the important of sustainability to reduce recyclable material.

I need a 3,000 word literature review based on the aim and objectives set above. The course discipline is civil engineering and management.
