Some advocates of full inclusion believe that the continuum of placements for students with disabilities should be abandoned. Others believe that the continuum should be preserved. You have been asked to discuss the pros and cons of this subject in front of Congress as they debate the issue in the next reauthorization of IDEA. In an essay that attempts to persuade Congress in one direction or the other (a) first, provide arguments for both maintaining and dissolving the continuum of placements model; and (b) then provide your position on the matter with sound rationale. (My position: I support abandoning the continuum of placements). Please provide a detailed essay response that includes content that is accurate, current and reflects knowledge of the professional literature. This response must include at least four (4) appropriate in-text (parenthetical) citations in APA (6th ed.) with an appropriate corresponding reference page.
