The article reading is Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail”. It will only need to be 4-5 paragraphs, and you will first write a summary of King’s letter and then end the summary with a sentence that picks two rhetorical appeals (ethos, pathos, logos) and evaluates if these two appeals are effective. Remember, you can think both appeals are effective, both are ineffective, or that one is effective and not another. You will need at least one body paragraph per appeal, and you will type the exam using MLA format.
