Experimental Design & Statistics

Good experimental design requires that the statistical methods, in particular the type of hypothesis testing, should be considered carefully before data are collected. Discuss why this is important. Also, post a brief summary of what data you intend to collect as part of your proposed experimental design. Provide a sentence describing what descriptive statistics, and what hypothesis test you could use for analysis of the data you intend to collect. You should then provide helpful comments to each other about any potential difficulties that you feel your peers might have with data collection or data analysis, or ideas for better methods of data collection. (Remember science is collaborative! You can learn from each other and provide ideas and new perspectives to each other).
