Evidence-Based Practice Presentation

1. Topic Proposal: Provide a brief introductory paragraph of your proposed topic for a hypothetical Quality Improvement and Safety EBP change project and a brief review of the planned change.

Note: You will NOT be implementing or completely planning out a change project in this course. You will be completing a basic introduction and planning for a hypothetical Quality Improvement and Safety EBP change projecttopic so that you begin learning the process before progressing on to your specialization courses. You will fully develop a change project plan in your Capstone course N555, so this assignment could potentially, but not necessarily, be a start to that process.

2. Discuss why the change is necessary (EBP support/ROL). Consider health policy and advocacy and discuss why this proposed change is necessary. Consider support such as metrics, organizational issues and patient safety issues. Include at least three (3) scholarly resources from the literature that would support this change.

3. Theory: Select an applicable change theory, nursing theory, or non-nursing theory and provide an overview of the major components. Outline the components of the theory as they relate to your specific project idea. You may create a table, graph or chart.

4. Potential Obstacles, Barriers & Challenges: Consider at least two potential obstacles, barriers and challenges for the hypothetical project. Identify how these issues could be addressed or avoided.

5. Ethical Considerations: Discuss how you would apply at least two ethical principles such as beneficence, justice, and respect for the hypothetical change project.

6. Legal Considerations: Discuss how you would apply at least two legal concepts and considerations for the hypothetical change project.

7. Cultural Competency: Discuss at least two cultural considerations for the hypothetical change project.

8. Expected outcomes: Discuss the anticipated measurable outcomes for the hypothetical change project. Explain how the outcomes would be measured.

9. (NEW CONTENT) Leadership for Change Agent: Discuss the leadership style that you, as a change agent, would model to plan and implement this hypothetical change project.

10. (NEW CONTENT) Organizational Leadership: Discuss the organizational leadership role in this proposed hypothetical change project. Consider the organizational and administrative support needed for the project.

11. (NEW CONTENT) Stakeholders: Discuss the stakeholders who would have a vested interest in the outcomes of this hypothetical project proposal. Explain why they have been identified as stakeholders.

12. (NEW CONTENT) Interprofessional Collaboration and Team: Identify key members that would comprise the interprofessional team to make the change successful. Identify at least two strategies to ensure successful collaboration and team dynamics.

13. (NEW CONTENT) Informatics: Discuss the role of informatics and/or in the support of this hypothetical change project.

14. Self-reflection: Discuss your learning experience for this project plan. How would the MSN influence your ability to make this change? Would you implement this project if it were possible?

15. Include a minimum of 10 APA scholarly references in addition to your text or online websites. APA formatted.
