Drawing on the theories covered in class, students must critically assess the
interpretation of freedom of religion in a high court judgement. The goal of this
exercise is to discuss the courts understanding of religion and religious freedom,
and to assess how this interpretation impacts religious individuals and their
respective communities. A list of eligible cases will be made available on
MyCourses. (*) Students who would like to work on a court decision that is not on
the list must have their case approved by the instructor before June 18th. Refer to
section VII Resources for information on how and where to find a court
judgement in various countries.
