Assignment Goal: Effectively search for and critique literature that addresses topics in American politics.
The purpose of this assignment is to conduct a search for information about a selected topic in different information formats.
Select a current topic of national interest. Find an article covering the topic from each of the following sources: (You will be selecting four sources in total focusing on the same topic)
Web only news source (not available in print Wikipedia doesnt count)
Major newspaper covering national news (print or web)
Published article from a policy research organization
Peer reviewed article (academic journal)
In essay format of a minimum of 3-4 pages answer the following:
Introduce the topic you selected
Describe how you went about searching for the articles on the topic selected.
Did you use library resources? Which ones?
Discuss the perspective presented about the topic in each of the articles you selected
How were they the same, or different?
Was the approach to the way the topic was discussed biased or not?
What were your thoughts about the issue being discussed prior to reading the selected articles?
Did any of the perspectives presented change how you feel on this issue? Why or why not?
Include a works cited page. The paper, including the works cited page should be in MLA
