Works cited citations may be in APA or MLA style, just choose the one you are comfortable with and use it throughout the paper.

Include at least 3 academic sources (Academic Journal Articles) in your works cited. Include at least 8 works cited (with at least 3 being academic).

Choose one of the concepts that we have introduced in this course that vary by culture but seem universal. Our culturally learned approaches to Time, Space, or Nature. Once you have chosen a concept to focus on, explore the culture(s) in which you grew up in during your formative years (ages baby to 12 years old).

In hind-sight and with the knowledge of the concepts, write a personal reflection research based analysis of how you came to approach that concept (Time, Space, or Nature) in your daily life. Did the approaches of the family unity/early childhood years differ from the larger culture in which you attended school (from 5 years old to 12, roughly).

Compare and contrast the values. In reflection, are there moments when you look back now, with years of distance and academic hindsight, where you can suddenly “see” a particular situation or series of situations from those early years with “new eyes, and new insight?”

I have posted a clip by a Comedian to give you a sense of, “Aha, in hindsight, that’s what happened with that teacher.” (Not necessarily a teacher for you, could be with those friends, or other parents, or caregivers outside of your family unit).

Use this paper to explore your own, learned, “silent language” approach to that concent (Time, Space, Nature) and how it may be viewed differently in hindsight and with increased awareness of cultural variations in approaches to the concept under discussion (Time, Space, or Nature).
