Discuss the interrelationships between healthcare costs, quality, and access from the Roemer model of health services systems. Make suggestions on how one would maximize access and quality while keeping costs low. Now, analyze why these suggestions have not been put into place.

Hello Professor and Class,

The Roemer model of health service systems is a five-part model that displays individual components such as the management stage, resource production, organization of programs, delivery of services, and economic support. The model provides us with a systematic method that compares several healthcare systems worldwide. Several ways would maximize access and quality while keeping costs low of healthcare. For example, there is always discussion about healthcare being available for everyone. One way to maximize access is to ensure everyone has a right to insurance will create opportunities as well as options for individuals that are disabled or elderly to get back and forth to their appointments. Also, if we take preventative measures by monitoring people with chronic diseases and providing treatment plans will keep the cost down (Burke and Ryan, 2020).

If all health care deliverers get together under one common platform to deliver accessible health care, the quality will be better reinforced and cost will become more efficient as there will be no competition and this will bring in that very important health care management and organizational frameworks will synthesize the working of each other and instead of competing they will be complementing each other. This has not been put into practice because health care is a populist agenda for elections and reforms and a huge amount of funding comes from drug companies and health care deliverers. There are heavy political lobbies on health care reforms and policies, and it has not been possible to put this model into action. The Roemer model has been recognized by all to be a perfect model for the ailing health care delivery mechanism in the United States (Burke and Ryan, 2020).
