EXAMPLE of one trend: “My organization is in healthcare in Venezuela and Brazil. The organization is in an unstable market, making our ten year plan very uncertain. We sensed a change in the market, after the inauguration of the new administration in 2013. In reaction, we created a ten year strategic human resource forecast to analyze our presence in Venezuela. President Nicolas Maduro controls the economy and is unwilling to contribute to federal health care spending (Central Intelligence Agency, 2017). Currently, our hospitals are also unsustainable because of a lack of properly trained workforce and lack of medical supplies. The once flourishing talent pool has fled to other Latin countries because of the turmoil. I will regretfully have to recommend to the board that we consider downsizing our facilities in Venezuela.”
