Chiesa (1994) discusses that as individuals we describe ourselves and others as happy, sad, disappointed, etc. Confusions can arise when ordinary language terms are taken into behavioral science when dealing with the language of emotions. Can you describe the problems that occur when trying to define terms in regard to emotions?

Answer my peers questions.

1. On p. 24, Chiesa (1994) discusses that as individuals we describe ourselves and others as happy, sad, disappointed, etc. Confusions can arise when ordinary language terms are taken into behavioral science when dealing with the language of emotions. Can you describe the problems that occur when trying to define terms in regard to emotions?

2. Johnston (2014) gives an example of a child verbally saying, I see a cat! This would prompt anyone to realize that the child was aware of the cat. It is then discussed that there if we are aware of something, we are conscious of it. What is the relation between awareness and consciousness?

3. Bijou (1996) discusses on p. 53 how a child in school was isolating herself from the group and crawling on the ground. They were instructed to give the child attention when being on her feet and walking, but ignore her when she is on the ground. This experiment proved to work. What was the impact of this experiment?

4. page 289 in Salzinger, a phase of study in verbal behavior looks at Greenspoons study of plural nouns. Salzinger states that a colleague of theirs asked them about the Greenspoon effect with verbal behavior. What exactly is the Greenspoon effect that is talked about in the article?

5.On page 83 in Johnston, it explores the notion of consciousness or awareness becoming harmful to our understanding of behavior when they imply an inner person that mediates interchanges between the external world and an inner world. My question is to clarify why this would be harmful to the understanding of behavior?

6. Page 27 in Chiesa talks about radical behaviorists being concerned with the controlling influence of several features of ordinary language, that guide the behavior of scientists toward views of their subject matter and toward forms of interpretation being at odds with a scientific analysis. My question is about what the controlling influence could be, and what features would be affected as a result?
