For the final project, students pick their own topics. The topic should be relevant to how GIS can be used for environmental science and management. The project should use real data. The output should include at least a map and some statistics. One suggestion is to collect data for a study area from government sources (e.g. census, economic, health statistics, pollution, environmental quality), and analyze and display the data in a professional, informative map.
